HAART House endeavors to improve medication compliance amongst inner city residents who have difficulty adhering to their ante-retro-viral medication treatment regimens. The program works with persons who have a history of:
- Homelessness
- Mental health Disorders
- Drug and Alcohol Use
and HIV positive. The staff monitors patient adherence, tolerability and efficacy of drugs to treat HIV, and assists patients in booking and attending follow-up medical appointments.
At HAART House clients:
- Receive meds on a daily basis in the home-like environment.
- Receive a well balanced healthy lunch and snacks.
- Receive emotional/social support and advocacy from the dedicated staff and volunteers.
How to access HAART House
There are three steps to becoming a client:
- Speak to your HIV specialist and discuss whether the project suits your needs.
- Come and visit our locations, meet the staff, look around, and decide if you would feel comfortable in the HAART House project.
- Have your HIV specialist contact HAART House to get you enrolled.
